The Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation has expressed its satisfaction at the decision of the Banca MPS board to go forward, continuing the same management – as the Foundation itself had hoped – with the implementation of their restructuring plan, aimed at recovering productivity and efficiency and returning to a sustainable profit level with a working capital in compliance with banking regulations and with the demands and requisites requested by Basel III, so as to return soon to creating value for all its partners.

For its part, the Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation will continue to work in a transparent way – and within the logic of support to and full cooperation with the bank – towards the implementation of its own strategic plan.

The Foundation takes note of the decision of the board of Banca MPS to go more thoroughly into technical and legal aspects of the added costs deriving from postponement of the capital increase requested and approved by a vote in the assembly of the MPS Foundation, reiterating the conviction that it has exercised an indispensable and legitimate right to defend the interests and assets
of the Foundation.
